ENGINE project organises the first training activities to raise awareness on and combat Gender-based Violence and Discrimination

The ENGINE project (Engaging Men and Boys against Gender-based Violence and Discrimination through Technology-based Trainings), organises the first training activities to raise awareness among the new generations on combating gender-based violence and discrimination. The project is co-funded by the European Union as the winner of the CERV-DAPHNE call, and coordinated by Anna Loretoni, full professor in the political philosophy. The project involves the Dirpolis Institute, the Institute of Mechanical Intelligence and the Institute of Management of the Sant'Anna School, and has CAM - Centro di Ascolto Uomini Maltrattanti di Firenze and ARTES 4.0 - Centro di Competenza as partners.

On 29 and 30 March, at the Sant'Anna School, students from the E. Santoni of Pisa, accompanied by Prof. Orsetta Innocenti, met Federica Merenda (Dirpolis _ Law, Politics, Development _ Institute), Carolina Marconi (Institute of Mechanical Intelligence), Rossano Bisciglia and Caterina Esposito (CAM), for some training activities dedicated to raising awareness and combating gender-based violence and discrimination, working on models of masculinity and training men and boys as allies.

Also using immersive virtual reality technologies, the training activities addressed the physical, emotional and social aspects related to direct and indirect experiences of gender-based violence. The trainings will involve high school students, University students as well as their teachers and professors and also young athletes who are part of sports associations together with their trainers and sport managers.
